Zamfara APC Stakeholders’ Meeting Key To Democratic Devt

The Director General of the Nigerian Office for Trades Negotiations (NOTN), Alhaji Sanusi Rikiji, has characterised Saturday’s stakeholders meeting conducted by the All Progressives Congress (APC) under the leadership of Governor Dauda Lawal as a historic event, adding that it will bring unprecedented unity among the leaders and the rapid development of the state.

Rikiji, who is also a former Speaker of the Zamfara State House of Assembly, stated this while speaking with journalists at the APC stakeholders meeting held at Gusau Government House during the weekend.

The meeting, which witnessed the presence of all stakeholders of the APC in Zamfara State, including all former governors and elected members of the state and national assemblies, has unequivocally supported the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Dauda Lawal in the 2027 general elections.

The stakeholders’ meeting brought together other critical party leaders, elected officials, elders, youth and women representatives, as well as key stakeholders across the fourteen local government areas of the state.

The meeting provided a strategic platform for extensive deliberations on party unity, governance alignment, security imperatives, and preparations for the forthcoming party congresses and the 2027 general elections.

The NOTN Boss commended Governor Dauda Lawal for organising the first of its kind stakeholders meetings, which served as a turning point, marked by rare unity among political leaders across the state.

“This is a historic event and a welcome development to every good citizen of Zamfara, as you can see all our former governors starting from Senator Ahmad Sani Yariman Bakura, Alhaji Mahmud Aliyu Shinkafi, Senator Abdul’aziz Yari Abubakar and the serving Minister of State for Defence, Bello Muhammad Matawalle”, Rikiji has noted.

The former Speaker urged party members to sustain the spirit of cooperation, accentuating that unity of purpose remains the foundation of lasting political success and development in any society.

“This is the first time in nearly three decades since the creation of Zamfara State, key political actors cutting across factions and interests have come together on the same platform with a common mission.

“This is the renewed spirit of unity that signals a major shift from division to collective action, stressing that the popularity and strength of APC in Zamfara lies in its ability to work together towards achieving clear and clearly identified goals.

The former Speaker reaffirmed the stakeholders’ commitment to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal’s second-term bids.

“All the APC stakeholders in Zamfara state have unanimously agreed to rally round behind Tinubu and Gov Dauda Lawal as leaders who would ensure the success of the state and nation in the forthcoming elections.

“Today, history has been made in Zamfara State. There has never been a political atmosphere like this, where individuals who have not sat together under one umbrella for 15 to 20 years are now meeting to pursue common objectives”, he added.
