Veteran gospel musician Prince Goke Bajowa has publicly cautioned fellow artist Boye Best over what he claims is the unauthorised use of his music.
The warning follows allegations that Boye Best has been performing Bajowa’s song, Iwo Ko Lodami, at various events without properly crediting its original creator.
The matter gained widespread attention after Bajowa shared a video on Instagram addressing the issue.
In the video, the gospel singer criticised the repeated performances of the track, describing the situation as unjust.

He argued that allowing audiences to believe the song belongs to someone else undermines his authorship and contribution.
“This is a final warning to you, Boye Best,” Bajowa declared. “You have continued to use my song Iwo Ko Lodami indiscriminately across multiple platforms and events, despite earlier communication making it clear that you do not own the rights to this work.
“While no one has stopped you from performing the song, you must properly acknowledge the original owner, Goke Bajowa, in every use of the song. Failure to do so will leave no choice but to pursue appropriate actions to protect the integrity and ownership of the work.”
Bajowa stressed that he has shown restraint in the past but is now prepared to take formal steps if the situation continues. He described his latest statement as a definitive warning and urged his colleague to address the matter promptly.
The situation has sparked reactions across social media, with fans and observers weighing in and taking sides.
The dispute also draws attention to ongoing concerns about intellectual property protection within Nigeria’s gospel music scene, where proper recognition and ownership remain key issues for artists at all levels.
