You Earn My Support If You Contribute To Devt Of Ibadanland, Olubadan Tells NGOs

His Imperial Majesty Oba (Dr) Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja (Arusa1), has assured any Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) that is ready to contribute to the development of Ibadanland of his support.

The assurance was contained in the press release issued and signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the monarch, Chief Ayoade Olugbemiga, shortly after the courtesy visits paid to Oba Ladoja at his palace, Oke Aremo, Ibadan by both the Executive Members of Rotary International District 9126 and AL- Basar International Foundation (Makah Specialist Eye Hospital) Ibadan on Monday.

According to Olubadan, “no government all over the world can meet the needs of its teeming populace alone, thus the support of Non-Governmental Organisations is not only required but needed.”

Kabiyesi strongly admired the 4 – Way Test of Rotary International: “Is it true; is it fair to all concerned; will it build goodwill and better friendship and will it be beneficial to all concerned”, saying, “the 4 – Way Test is the ethical guide used by Rotarians worldwide in their personal and professional lives which can be applied in people’s daily activities.”

The Arusa 1 commended the philanthropic activities of the Rotary Club in the areas of medical outreach, eradication of diseases such as polio, guinea worms and provision of social amenities like sinking of boreholes, among others.

The Governor of Rotary International District 9126, Rotarian Funke Akpo Batife, expressed the gratitude of the team to Oba Ladoja for the warm reception accorded them on short notice of their visit.

She disclosed that all the humanitarian activities of Kabiyesi didn’t go unnoticed, especially in the areas of dispute settlement, support for the needy, and provision of social services which encouraged the Rotary International to induct him as an honorary member.

Consequently, the monarch was inducted, and a membership certificate was given to him.

In a related matter, the Executive Members of Al Basar International Foundation Maikkah Specialist Eye Hospital led by Dr Azamat Saa, appreciated Oba Ladoja for his love for the progress and development of Ibadanland since his enthronement as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.
