You Can’t Say The President Is Not Working

Nigerian gospel singer, Yinka Alaseyori has urged Nigerians to pray for the abducted schoolchildren in Oyo State, insisting that prayer remains essential in addressing the country’s security challenges.

Speaking on the incident, she dismissed claims that prayers are ineffective.

“So many people are saying the prayer they are praying is not working, but believe me, prayers are working. Prayers are working,” she said.

Alaseyori cautioned Nigerians against allowing political interests to shape their reactions to the kidnapping, stressing that everyone, including government officials and security personnel, needs prayers.

“From the first person, from the President to the last person in this country, we all need prayers,” she said.

Defending the efforts of the government, she added, “You can’t say that the President or the Vice President are not doing what they have to do. They are working. You can’t say they are not working.”

The singer also said security operatives may be making efforts behind the scenes and require spiritual support to succeed.

“Even the security personnel, they might be close to where those children are to rescue them and then get jazzed not to see them. That’s the place of prayer.”

Describing the abducted people as “people’s fathers, mothers and children,” she urged Nigerians not to allow themselves to be manipulated for political purposes and instead focus on praying for the victims and the nation.

“But right now, let’s pray for our nation, Nigeria. Every individual in your houses, you need to pray for these children,” she said.

Alaseyori further called for prayers for soldiers and other security personnel, noting that they also face significant risks while carrying out rescue operations.
