Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex and the younger son of King Charles III and the late Diana, Princess of Wales, has made a deep emotional revelation about his decision to step away from royal life.
Harry Speaking at a leadership and mental health summit in Melbourne, said that the pressures of the royal institution contributed to the death of his mother, Princess Diana.
The Duke of Sussex said he “never wanted the job” of being a working royal, explaining how the trauma of losing his mother at the age of 12 shaped his resistance to royal duties.

He added that the system “killed my mum,” noting that he spent years avoiding the painful reality before ultimately deciding to choose a different path for himself and his family.
During the speech, he opened up about his personal struggles with grief, intense public pressure, and emotional burnout, revealing that there were times he felt “lost, betrayed, or completely powerless.”
