R-Jolad Hospital Nigeria Limited has strengthened its corporate governance structure with the appointment of Dr Emi Membere-Otaji as a Non-Executive Director on its Board, as the healthcare provider continues its expansion and integration strategy across Nigeria.
The appointment, which takes effect from 2 February 2026, was announced in a statement issued by the firm on Tuesday.
The hospital said the decision is part of broader efforts to reinforce governance and support its long-term growth strategy, particularly following its strategic acquisition and partnership with Princess Medical Centre, which is expected to deepen its footprint in Nigeria’s healthcare sector.
Dr Emi Membere-Otaji, who holds the titles FMIN and OON, is a medical practitioner and seasoned business leader with extensive experience spanning healthcare administration, public service, and industry leadership.
According to the hospital, his background includes senior roles across government and major professional bodies, where he has built a reputation for strategic leadership, institutional development, and governance oversight.
R-Jolad Hospital said his appointment is expected to strengthen board-level decision-making and support the organisation’s ambition to expand access to quality healthcare services across its growing network.
Commenting on the appointment, the Board Chairman of R-Jolad Hospital, Mr Jide Ogundare, said the move reflects the organisation’s commitment to strengthening leadership capacity as it scales operations.
“We are pleased to welcome Dr Membere-Otaji to the Board at this time in our organisation’s growth. His depth of experience and strategic perspective will further strengthen our governance and support our vision of delivering accessible, high-quality healthcare across our expanding network,” he said.
Also speaking, the Managing Director of R-Jolad Hospital, Dr Funsho Oladipo, said the appointment aligns with the hospital’s long-term transformation agenda, particularly as it integrates new facilities and expands service delivery.
“Dr Membere-Otaji’s appointment reflects our commitment to building a strong and forward-thinking Board. As we integrate Princess Medical Centre into our network and continue to grow, his insights will be invaluable in guiding our clinical and operational priorities,” he said.
In his remarks, Dr Membere-Otaji expressed appreciation for the appointment, noting that he looks forward to contributing to the hospital’s growth and impact.
“I am honoured to join R-Jolad Hospital at such an exciting phase of its growth. I look forward to contributing to the organisation’s vision of expanding access to quality healthcare and strengthening its impact within the communities it serves,” he said.
The hospital said the addition of Dr Membere-Otaji further reinforces its commitment to strong corporate governance, clinical excellence, and sustainable expansion as it evolves into a more integrated healthcare network.
