Despite collecting a ransom of N24 million and other items, the victims were not released until police intervention led to the rescue of the officer’s son, while efforts continue to secure the release of the officer.

The suspects are also linked to other kidnapping cases, including the abduction of a child and members of a family, where N18 million was reportedly paid before their rescue.

The police said operations are ongoing to arrest fleeing members of the syndicate, recover weapons, and rescue remaining victims.
