The Owa of Otan-Ayegbaju, Oba Lukman Ojo-Fadipe, and the Otan-Ayegbaju Progressive Union (OAPU), have congratulated Prof. Segun Aina on his appointment as the new Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
In a statement issued by the OAPU Global President, Aare GH Adetunji Mosebolatan, through the union’s Public Relations Officer, Lateef Dada, the OAPU praised President Bola Tinubu for considering a capable youth to lead JAMB.
Aare Mosebolatan described Prof. Aina as a man of proven capacity and added that he has contributed immensely to the progress of Otan-Ayegbaju, including through educational development.
He noted that Prof. Aina, who serves as Financial Secretary of OAPU, would build on the legacy of the outgoing JAMB Registrar, Prof. Isiaq Oloyede.
“We are proud to say that President Bola Tinubu has appointed a capable person to head JAMB.
Not only because of his academic qualification, but also because of the capacity he has already demonstrated in Otan-Ayegbaju,” the statement read.
The OAPU leader added: “Prof. Aina, whose father, Emeritus Prof. Olu Aina, is the Asiwaju of Otan-Ayegbaju, has contributed meaningfully to the development of the town in many ways, particularly in education.”
The union urged stakeholders to support the new registrar to enable him to succeed and sustain improvements in the administration of tertiary admissions.
“We pray that JAMB will be better under Prof. Aina’s leadership, and we appeal to all stakeholders to cooperate with him as he takes on this important responsibility,” Mosebolatan said.
