Ondo State professionals and political stakeholders on Monday gathered at the Asiwaju Mandate Group (AMG) Secretariat in Akure for the official launch of Ondo State Professionals for Tinubu (BTO Professionals), a strategic platform aimed at mobilising professional bodies across the state in support of the 2027 re-election bid of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The event, which drew participants from different sectors, underscored growing efforts to consolidate support for the Renewed Hope agenda through active engagement with professionals and technocrats across Ondo State.
Speaking at the event, the Acting Director General of the group, Mr Emmanuel Segun Akeju, popularly known as Mr Pillar, reaffirmed the commitment of the organisation to building a formidable structure across all local governments in Ondo State.
According to him, the group will embark on wide consultations and engagements with professional associations across the state, including doctors, nurses, accountants, engineers, architects, lawyers, lecturers, pharmacists, journalists, ICT professionals, bankers, quantity surveyors, and other organised professional bodies, to galvanise grassroots and institutional support for President Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections.
Akeju stated that the vision of the platform goes beyond politics, noting that it seeks to create a strong network of professionals who believe in competence, integrity, excellence, service, and sustainable national development.
He also appreciated the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for his exemplary leadership, dedication to public service, and outstanding contributions to governance and national development.
Akeju described the Interior Minister as one of the shining lights of the administration whose performance, innovation, and people-oriented approach have continued to inspire confidence among young professionals and progressive-minded Nigerians.
He noted that Dr Tunji-Ojo’s commitment to effective service delivery and institutional reforms remains a strong motivation for the group’s resolve to support the continuity of the Renewed Hope agenda in 2027.
He further disclosed that the group would immediately commence strategic engagements with professional associations and sector-based bodies to promote the achievements, policies, and developmental strides of the Tinubu administration.
Also speaking was Ebenezer Alabi, a chartered accountant and former Chairman of the PDP in Ondo State, who commended the initiative and stressed the importance of professionals taking active roles in governance and nation-building.
Similarly, Engr. Tunde Gbalajobi, a member of the State Working Committee of the APC, described the formation of the group as a welcome development that would strengthen the party’s outreach among intellectuals and professionals in the state.
Erelu Gbemisola Alabi, former Deputy Governorship aspirant on the platform of the SDP and prominent APC chieftain, also commended the vision behind the initiative, describing it as a timely movement capable of uniting professionals and progressive-minded individuals towards purposeful leadership, policy continuity, and sustainable development.
Earlier in the programme, the Director General of the Asiwaju Mandate Group (AMG), Asiwaju Olumuyiwa Asagunla, while welcoming guests to the AMG Secretariat, described the initiative as a strategic platform that would help deepen support for the Renewed Hope Agenda and strengthen grassroots mobilisation among professionals in Ondo State.
The event was attended by party leaders, professionals from diverse sectors, youth representatives, women groups, members of various support organisations, political stakeholders, and loyalists of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from across Ondo State.
