Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has emerged winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primary for Ogun East held on Monday, 18 May, 2026 as part of ghe party’s preparations for the 2027 general elections.
The primary election, held across designated wards in the senatorial district, was reported by the governor through a social media post to have been peaceful and orderly, with party members turning out to participate in the exercise.
Governor Abiodun participated in the voting process at his polling unit in Ward 3, Ita Osanyin, Iperu-Remo, in Ikenne Local Government Area, where he commended party faithful for their discipline and commitment.

Following the exercise, the governor expressed appreciation to party leaders, stakeholders, delegates, electoral officials, and security agencies for ensuring a smooth and credible process.
He noted that the conduct of the primary reflected the unity and democratic maturity within the APC in Ogun State, adding that the party remains well-positioned for victory in the 2027 general elections.
