The Chairman of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Nasarawa State, Hon. Dogo Shammah, has said that the party has speedily grown into leading opposition with stable leadership across the country.
He stated this in an address at the North Central zonal interactive session of the party held in Lafia on Friday.
According to him, the presence of delegates from the six states of the North Central region and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, was a clear testimony of the growing momentum of the new party.
The Nasarawa NDC chairman said that tlhe Nigeria Democratic Congress, though a new party, but its leaders and supporters are not new to the aspirations of the Nigerian people.
Hon Shammah said that the party was currently positioning itself as the leading opposition, ahead of the 2027 General Elections, both in Nasarawa State and across the nation.
He said that what sets NDC apart among other parties was the stable leadership rooted in discipline, fairness, and justice at all levels, focused on wresting power from the ruling All Progressives Congress in 2027
According to him, NDC was comfortably attracting key opposition figures and political heavyweights committed to rescuing the country from the maladministration if the APC-led federal government under the able leadership of the National Leader, Distinguished Senator Seriake Dickson,
He, I urged leaders of the party across the state to work hard to strengthen the party, noting that. Nigerians are yearning for credible, people-centred leadership, and the alternative is the Nigeria Democratic Congress.
The chairman said that NDC was the only platform with the capacity and commitment to provide real development to the North Central region, tackle insecurity, reverse the tide of economic backwardness and offer solutions to the challenges confronting the country.
Urging delegates at the event to engage in responsible politicking that could win the minds and hearts of the people, Shammah called on the party to present credible candidates who can win elections at all levels of governance.
