Mass Resignation Rocks Delta APC

Crisis has erupted within the All Progressives Congress in Delta State following alleged shortchange and favouritism being orchestrated for and against aspirants ahead of the party primary elections during the screening.

Several aspirants for the state’s House of Assembly were said to have been denied access to the exercise, a development that had triggered a massive wave of defections.

An aspirant, Chief Mrs. Isioma Ndah Theodora a.k.a Fearless, in a protest letter to the National Chairman of the party, dated May 4, 2026, resigned her membership over shortchange.

She requested in the letter to be delisted from the party’s e-registration and her ID101506003045 should be removed from the party’s register with immediate effect.

The controversy was linked to the Senate aspiration of former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa in Delta North, which sidelined long-standing APC members in favour of the emerging power blocs in the party.

An.aggrieved aspirant (names withheld) said, “the refusal to screen certain aspirants amounts to political exclusion, intimidation, and betrayal of those who built the party structure over the years.”
