“I understand that words alone cannot ease the pain you are going through, but I want to assure you that we are doing everything within our power to bring your loved ones back safely,” he said.

The governor revealed that since the abduction occurred, he had been holding regular security briefings and maintaining direct communication with security agencies overseeing rescue operations.

“Since this incident happened, I have been meeting with security chiefs twice every day and coordinating efforts with relevant agencies. We will continue to push beyond every limit until all the abductees are rescued,” Makinde stated.

He condemned the actions of the kidnappers, describing the abduction as a cruel and inhumane act that cannot be justified under any circumstance.

“The actions of those responsible are unacceptable, cruel and inhumane, regardless of whatever grievances they may claim to have,” he added.

Makinde also paid tribute to members of the Oyo State Security Network Agency (Amotekun Corps), noting that nearly 200 operatives had lost their lives in the fight against crime since the outfit was established.

Speaking on behalf of affected families, Prof. Wole Alamu appealed to the governor to intensify efforts toward securing the victims’ freedom, while another relative, Aliu Saidi, made a similar appeal for urgent intervention.

Following his address to the community, the governor held a private session with parents and relatives of the abductees, during which he provided updates on ongoing rescue operations and security measures being deployed.
