Macallan Unveils Redesigned Bottles For Its Whisky Collections

The Macallan has introduced a new visual identity for its Double Cask and Sherry Oak collections, with the Timeless Collection making its Nigerian debut.

The redesign, described by the brand as an evolution rather than a simple packaging update, aims to reinforce The Macallan’s commitment to craftsmanship while responding to premium consumers’ expectations for heritage balanced with progress.

Developed in collaboration with graphic designer David Carson, the new bottle silhouette is inspired by the sweeping roof of The Macallan Distillery in Speyside. The brand’s triangular shoulder label remains, now also referencing Spain’s Sherry Triangle.

The whisky itself is unchanged. The updated packaging is fully recyclable, with reduced glass weight and the removal of unnecessary foiling and plastic. Rear labels now feature cask-type symbols, and each bottle includes anti-counterfeit technology and a unique QR code for traceability.

The Double Cask and Sherry Oak collections will roll out nationwide in Nigeria, where the brand says luxury is increasingly defined by intention and sustainability, not exclusivity alone.
