The Labour Party (LP) has accused its former National Chairman, Julius Abure, of illegal sale of nomination forms for the 2027 general elections.
The party, in a statement issued by the National Publicity Secretary, Ken Asogwa, described such nomination forms as “Worthless paper.”
The statement noted that Senator Nenadi Usman-led National Working Committee (NWC) is the only legitimate body authorised to sell nomination forms for the 2027 general elections.
The Labour Party wondered why Abure should choose a state as the only state for the sale, describing it as cheap blackmail against its national leader, Governor Alex Otti.
The party advised members of the public “to be vigilant and avoid falling prey to the antics of desperate political scam artists masquerading as party officials.”
It warned Abure of the consequences of his continued impersonation of the office of the National Chairman of the Labour Party, reminding him that the action is “a criminal offence of serious legal consequence that has reached an intolerable height.
“As a lawyer, he should know better. The net is steadily tightening around him and, sooner than later, he will be left to answer for his actions before law enforcement authorities and the courts.”
