Kwankwasiyya Urges NDC Candidates To Uphold Party Principles

The Kwankwasiyya Movement has commended the aspirants of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), who demonstrated an extraordinary level of discipline, loyalty, sacrifice, and commitment by accepting the outcome of the consensus process adopted by the leadership of the movement.

Dr Habibu Sale Muhammad Mailemo, the spokesperson of the Movement issued a statement on Saturday that the strength of any political movement lies not only in its ability to produce candidates but also in the willingness of its members to place collective interests above personal ambitions.

He said the conduct of the NDC aspirants throughout this process has once again confirmed that the Kwankwasiyya Movement remains one of the most disciplined and ideologically driven political movements in Nigeria.

“We particularly wish to commend the exemplary statesmanship displayed by Senator Rufa’i Sani Hanga, who graciously stepped aside and supported the emergence of His Excellency Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna as the consensus candidate for his senatorial seat.

“His sacrifice and commitment to the collective interest of the movement represent the highest ideals of political maturity and loyalty.”

“We equally appreciate the former Governor of Kano State and former Senator, Senator Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya, for accepting the decision of the movement to present the immediate past President of the Nigerian Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO), Hon. Nasir Batayya, as the Senatorial candidate for Kano South.

“Such a display of discipline and respect for collective decisions further strengthens the unity and cohesion of our movement.”

Mailemo hints that, “We also extend our gratitude to the numerous aspirants across the state who either stepped aside for fellow members or accepted responsibilities different from those they initially sought, all in the interest of building a stronger and more formidable political platform.

“Their sacrifices will remain a proud chapter in the history of the Kwankwasiyya Movement.

They congratulate NDC Governorship Candidate, Hon. Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, whose emergence reflects the confidence reposed in him by the leadership and members of the movement.

“We equally congratulate all our Senatorial candidates, House of Representatives candidates, and State House of Assembly candidates across Kano State. Their emergence is both an honour and a great responsibility.

“As they prepare to engage the electorate, we remind them that they are not merely candidates seeking public office; they are ambassadors of the Kwankwasiyya Movement and representatives of its ideals, values, and aspirations.

“They are therefore expected to conduct themselves with humility, discipline, integrity, respect for the people, and unwavering commitment to the principles of good governance, social justice, accountability, and service to humanity that have defined our movement over the years.

“The confidence entrusted in them must be justified through exemplary conduct, issue-based campaigns, and a clear demonstration that the Kwankwasiyya Movement remains committed to providing competent, responsible, and people-oriented leadership.

“As we move closer to the elections, we call upon all members and supporters of the movement to remain united, focused, and committed to our shared vision.

“The spirit of sacrifice and discipline demonstrated throughout this process must continue to guide our actions as we work collectively towards securing victory for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) and delivering a better future for the people of Kano State.

“Together, united in purpose and guided by our ideals, we shall continue to build a stronger movement and a more prosperous society.”
