Jibrin Distributes 53,040 Bags Of Fertiliser


In an effort to cushion the effects of the high cost of Fertilizer to Farmers and to ensure enough bumper harvest, Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, has concluded arrangements to distribute 53,040 bags of fertiliser ( 88 trucks) to farmers and other constituents across the 13 Local Government Areas of Kano North Senatorial District.

A statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Malam Ismail Mudashir, said the distribution of the fertiliser, an annual intervention of the lawmaker, will commence on Sunday, May 31, 2026, across Kano North Senatorial District.

He said the intervention is part of Senator Barau’s continued efforts to support farmers, enhance agricultural productivity, and contribute to the attainment of food security in the country.

The beneficiaries include: farmers, party stakeholders at various levels, elected chairmen, vice chairmen, councillors, and secretaries.

Others are APC caucus members, imams, village heads, ward heads, headmasters, principals, security personnel and social media influencers, among others.

Senator Barau reiterated his commitment to initiatives that directly impact positively on the lives of his constituents, noting that timely access to inputs such as fertiliser is critical to improving yields and ensuring food sufficiency.

He added that the intervention is aimed at complementing the efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu towards achieving national food security, urging the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the support to realise its intended objectives
