Igbokwe Leads City Boy Movement To Grassroots Acceptance

Inaugurates LG, Ward, Polling Unit Leaders

Amid claims of opposition dismissing the City Boy Movement as incapable of making any significant impact in the Abia political landscape, the State Chapter of the Movement, the pro-group for the re-election bid of President Bola Tinubu in 2027, has emerged as one of the most organised and effective arms of the movement.

The successful inauguration of LGA coordinators, ward executives, and polling unit teams across all 17 LGAs and 286 wards marked a significant milestone, helping the Movement to establish a strong and fully functional grassroots presence and enduring structure in Abia State.

Expressing his delight at the inauguration, the State Director, Mayor Lucky Igbokwe, popularly addressed as Don Lulu, said his modest efforts together with his team have given the movement in Abia purpose, focus and verve, signalling a potential to pull surprises in 2027.

According to him, the Abia chapter of the City Boys Movement is widely praised for its coordination, discipline and presently boasts of a vibrant network that reaches both urban and rural communities, enhancing participation and mobilisation at all levels with the inauguration of the LGA Coordinators, ward and polling unit foot soldiers.

He charged the LG, Ward and Polling Unit leaders to spare no effort to ensure the victory of President Bola Tinubu and all APC candidates across the State in 2027.

Observers have attributed the Movement’s rapid growth within the short time of its existence in Abia State to strategic planning, committed membership recruitment and Igbokwe’s leadership style.

Igbokwe believes that with its solid foundation, the Abia chapter is well-positioned to play a leading role in advancing the goals of the Movement.
