Former Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) housemate, Tega Dominic, has taken to her social media page to caution aspiring housemates or Nigerians considering participating in the reality TV show over the psychological impact.
Recounting the intense psychological toll the show had on her, while speaking about her post-show experience, Tega disclosed that she developed anxiety, including social anxiety, which has continued to affect her daily life and interactions.
According to her, routine activities such as going out alone became overwhelming, while certain forms of physical interaction remain difficult to process.

“I won’t tell anybody close to me to go for Big Brother,” she said.
“If you’re not mentally strong, don’t go. After the show, I had anxiety, and it got worse. I couldn’t go to places alone. I can give hugs, but I can’t receive them.”
The former housemate emphasised that the emotional pressure, public scrutiny, and sudden exposure that come with the show can be mentally exhausting, especially for individuals who are not psychologically prepared.
