The Gongola People’s Forum (GPF) yesterday called for a transparent, free, fair, and credible governorship primary by the Adamawa State All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 general election.
Addressing a press conference in Abuja, spokesman for the group Markus Gundiri warned that they will vehemently resist the imposition of a candidate for the governorship election.
He said: “All aspirants must be given a genuine level playing field.” The Elders called on all APC stakeholders, especially at the national and state levels, to uphold the sacred principles of internal democracy.
The GPF said: “We wish to state unequivocally our firm and uncompromising position against the ongoing sinister attempts by some elements within the APC to impose a preferred candidate on the people of Adamawa State for the 2027 governorship election.
