The Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy (FMMBE), in collaboration with the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), commenced a five-day joint working visit to Lagos Channel Management Limited (LCM) to validate outcomes of the Joint Venture and tighten oversight of critical maritime infrastructure.
A statement by the ministry yesterday said a delegation led by the Director of Maritime Services Meshack Oyinloye would carry out an on-site review of LCM’s channel management operations across the Lagos Harbour and its access routes.
The exercise is designed to assess the Joint Venture’s operational performance, verify reported technical outputs and milestones, establish reliable baseline data for future performance measurement, and confirm cost-effectiveness and value for money in all channel management activities.
Officials said the validation would strengthen governance and accountability within the Joint Venture framework while providing independent technical confirmation of dredging and maintenance works.
