Fan Rivalry Reason For Wizkid, Davido Dominance- Blaqbonez


Nigerian rapper Emeka Akumefule, popularly known as Blaqbonez, has said the competition between the fans of Wizkid and Davido has significantly contributed to maintaining the relevance of both artists in the music scene.

In an interview with YouTuber Korty EO, Blaqbonez stated that the competitive fan culture has played a crucial role in maintaining the relevance of both stars for almost twenty years.

He observed that although artists may hold mutual respect for one another, the competition among their fans persists in fueling engagement and interest in their music.

He believes that if the artists were to openly show deep affection for one another, their level of dominance might weaken.

Blaqbonez characterised himself as non-competitive, but mentioned he doesn’t mind competition, particularly when it generates excitement in the industry

He said, “Wizkid and Davido can never fade. That hatred is the reason why they will be relevant forever. When they love each other, it is over. Love is for children. Artists can love each other, but the fans should never love each other.”
