There are indications that Alhaji Mohammed Hayatu-Deen who defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) two weeks ago, may seek the presidential ticket of the party in next year’s election.
Hayatu-Deen, a banker and an industrialist, was one of the presidential aspirants of PDP in 2022. He however withdrew from the race, as according to him, the primary election contest was “obscenely monetised”.
At a press conference in Abuja on Tuesday, a group, which called itself, “Team Rebuild Nigeria,” said the career of the former Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, FSB International Bank Plc., reflects the kind of capacity required at this moment to tackle Nigeria’s economic and security challenges.
“Mohammed HayatuDeen has spent decades solving complex problems, building institutions, and managing large-scale operations. “These are not abstract credentials. They are directly relevant to the work of rebuilding a nation,” the group said.
