EKO57 Seeks Grassroots Devt, Political Mobilisation

…Calls for Support for All Progressives Congress in 2027

As the 2027 general elections approach, key stakeholders across Lagos State converged on Sunday for a strategic meeting convened by the Eko57 Support Group, a political and grassroots mobilisation movement committed to strengthening governance and engaging members of the public.

The meeting, led by celebrity influencer and convener of the group, Lege Miami, brought together representatives from all 57 Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in Lagos State to canvass support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 elections.

The well-attended gathering was attended by supporters from across the local governments and LCDAs.

Addressing participants, Lege Miami spoke on the group’s role in improving the socio-economic well-being of Lagosians while building a formidable grassroots structure to support the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other APC candidates.

He also mentioned a roadmap centred on community-driven initiatives, strategic partnerships with government leaders, and sustained engagement at ward and local levels.

“The strength of any movement lies in its connection with the people.

“Eko57 is committed to ensuring that development is not just discussed at the top, but felt at the grassroots. We are building a structure that listens, acts, and delivers,” he said.

Also speaking, Nollywood actor, Yomi Fash-Lanso, urged participants to remain united and support the APC in the forthcoming elections.

He noted that interventions by President Tinubu have contributed to reduced industrial actions by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and emphasised initiatives such as NELFUND aimed at supporting indigent students.

Nollywood actress, Remi Oshodi, popularly known as Remi Tinubu, called on Nigerians to actively participate in the electoral process by supporting the administration and monitoring activities at their polling units.

“We cannot sit at home and complain. There is a need to be actively involved in what is happening in our country,” she said, adding that the APC-led government has programmes designed to benefit the masses.

Several local government representatives spoke on the importance of unity and coordinated action in achieving sustainable development, and added that Eko57 is a platform for amplifying grassroots voices.

Dignitaries present at the event included the group’s Patron, Seyi Tinubu; Co-Patron and Chairman/CEO of Sifax Group, Taiwo Afolabi; Kolade Alabi; and Rasheed Muri Okunola, among others.
