Ebri Backs Otu, Hails Devt Strides In C’River

Former Governor of Cross River State and Chairman of the Elders Advisory Council, Clement Ebri, has expressed confidence in the leadership of Governor Bassey Otu, saying the state is witnessing steady progress under the current administration.

Ebri said Cross River people were increasingly optimistic about the future owing to what he described as purposeful governance, visible development and renewed hope across the state.

Speaking on behalf of elders and stakeholders, the former governor noted that the Otu administration had demonstrated commitment and vision in critical sectors, adding that the achievements recorded so far had inspired confidence among residents.

According to him, there is a growing belief that the state is on the path of restoration, growth and prosperity, stressing that public confidence was being driven by visible results rather than political rhetoric

He particularly commended ongoing efforts toward the recovery of Cross River’s oil wells, describing it as a major economic milestone capable of transforming the fortunes of the state.

Ebri said the resolution of the oil wells dispute would open up new opportunities for infrastructure development, economic expansion and wealth creation for the benefit of present and future generations.

The elder statesman also praised Bola Ahmed Tinubu for supporting efforts aimed at resolving the long-standing issue, expressing hope that the process would be brought to a successful conclusion.

He maintained that the future of the state would continue to be determined by Cross River people through their collective commitment to peace, progress and development.

Reaffirming support for the Otu administration ahead of the 2027 elections, Ebri said the governor would enjoy overwhelming backing from the people because of the tangible achievements recorded by his government.

He added that the mood across the state remained one of hope and confidence as residents continue to witness what he described as purposeful leadership and sustained development initiatives.

“As elders and stakeholders in the destiny of Cross River, we speak with conviction and confidence in the leadership currently steering the affairs of our dear state,” Ebri said.
