C’River Speaker Promises Better Deal For Constituents


Cross River State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem has assured his Constituents in Ikom of reaching out to every ward after a successful screening in preparation for another term in the House.

Addressing stakeholders in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the area on Thursday, the Speaker promised to redouble his efforts when he returns to the House, come 2027.

He said: “To the good people of Nnam, let me sincerely appreciate you for cooperating with the decision of His Excellency and other stakeholders.

“Just know that turns never finish. Today may be for one ward, tomorrow will be for another. When the time comes, every other ward will also join hands to make it happen.”

He thanked Governor Bassey Edet Otu for the unwavering support and the confidence reposed in his leadership, saying: “My heart is filled with profound gratitude to His Excellency, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, for his fatherly leadership, trust, and steadfast commitment to the peace, unity, and progress of our great party and Cross River State at large..

He also acknowledged the support of other stakeholders, noting: “I am deeply humbled by the overwhelming love, confidence, and support shown by leaders, stakeholders, elders, women, youths, and the entire people of Ikom II State Constituency in endorsing me as the consensus candidate for the Cross River State House of Assembly.”

According to him, “This rare demonstration of unity and solidarity is not something I take for granted. It is a responsibility that further strengthens my resolve to continue serving our people with dedication, humility, and sincerity of purpose.

On his commitment to the party, Speaker Ayambem explained thus: “I remain sincerely grateful to our party leaders and stakeholders for placing the collective interest of our constituency above every personal consideration.

“Your belief in our shared vision for a stronger, united, and more prosperous Ikom II continues to inspire me to do even more.

“At this moment, what matters most is our unity, peace, and collective determination to move Ikom II forward. Let us all put our hands on deck to deliver our dear Governor 100 per cent come 2027.

“Let me also reaffirm, without reservation, my deep and unalloyed loyalty to the leadership and vision of His Excellency, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, whose People First agenda continues to redefine governance and development across our dear state.

“I remain committed to sustaining quality representation, protecting the confidence reposed in me, and working tirelessly for the continued growth, unity, and advancement of Ikom II State Constituency and Cross River State.”
