Court Sets May 20 For Arraignment In ACB Building

Justice Sherifat Sonaike of a Lagos State High Court, sitting at the J.I.C. Taylor Courthouse, has fixed May 20, for the arraignment of Alhaja Ganiyat Abiola Ulom and Mr. Oluseye Olusoga, Managing Director of Consolidated Discounts Limited (CDL), over the alleged forceful entry into a 13-storey building on Lagos Island.

The case marked LD/27748C/2026, concerns the property popularly known as the ACB Building, located at No. 100 Broad Street. The building was reportedly in possession of one, Samuel Arisi and undergoing renovation at the time of the alleged incident.

The matter, which came up last Wednesday for arraignment, could not proceed due to the absence of both defendants in court.

This marks the second time the case has stalled at the arraignment stage owing to their non-appearance. At a previous sitting, counsel to the first defendant, R. A. Isinsin, had informed the court that his client was ill and admitted in hospital, which accounted for her absence at the time.

At Wednesday’s proceedings, a Deputy Director in the Lagos State Ministry of Justice appeared for the prosecution, while Eze Okam represented the second defendant. Counsel for the first defendant was, however, absent.
