The Federal High Court in Maitama, Abuja, has fixed June 9, 2026, for judgment in the ongoing trial of former Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman, over alleged fraud.
Justice James Omotosho adjourned the case after both the prosecution and defence adopted their final written addresses.
Mamman is being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on a 12-count charge bordering on conspiracy and money laundering involving ₦33.8 billion.

At the proceedings, defence counsel Femi Atteh, SAN, informed the court that the defence had filed its final written address and urged the court to discharge and acquit the defendant.
However, prosecution counsel Rotimi Oyedepo, SAN, argued that evidence presented before the court clearly established the case against Mamman.
According to him, funds were traced from a government account to a Bureau de Change, which allegedly delivered the money to the defendant.
He also cited testimony from witnesses who claimed they handled cash transactions on Mamman’s instruction.
The prosecution urged the court to dismiss the defence’s submissions and convict the former minister on all counts.
Following the adoption of final arguments, Justice Omotosho adjourned the matter until June 9 for judgment.
