Borno South APC Youth Endorses Gubio For Gov, Ndume Senator

The Coalition of All Progressives Congress (APC) Borno South Youth Groups has formally endorsed Alhaji Engr. Mustapha Gubio for Governor and Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume for Borno South Senatorial District.

The endorsement, according to the group, followed extensive grassroots consultations across the nine local government areas of Biu, Hawul, Askira- Uba, Chibok, Damboa, Bayo, Shani and Kwaya Kusar in the zone.

Addressing a press briefing in Maiduguri on Tuesday, the Chairman of the coalition, Hon. Mohammed Musa Nasir, said the group found Engr. Gubio is an ideal leader whose experience and long-standing interaction with people of diverse religions, cultures, and tribes have given him a broad understanding of the state’s social and political realities.

The chairman commended Governor Babagana Umara Zulum for what he termed a “visionary decision” in supporting Gubio’s emergence, noting that the move reflects continuity, stability, and administrative competence for the state.

On the senatorial endorsement, the chairman stated that Borno South has every reason to align with stakeholders across the zone who believe in the capacity and leadership of Senator Ndume.

He also said that the decision of APC stakeholders to collectively purchase the nomination form for the senator, coupled with his legislative record and long-standing service to the people, clearly justified the coalition’s endorsement.

According to him, the resolutions were reached after wider consultations with local communities, religious leaders, traditional institutions, and political stakeholders across the senatorial district.

Also speaking, the Director of Women Affairs and Local Intervention, Hon. Hyelni Dibal, emphasised that the interests of women, youths, and children remain central to the coalition’s decision.

She said a careful review of Engr. Gubio’s public service record and Senator Ndume’s legislative interventions in matters affecting women and children gave the group confidence in their leadership.

She assured that come 2027, women across Borno South would mobilise massively in support of both candidates.

The coalition reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive participation and pledged to continue engaging communities across Borno South as the political process unfolds.
