The President of the United States (US), Donald Trump, on Tuesday, issued a fresh warning to Iran, saying it must accept a proposed agreement to end the ongoing conflict or face a renewed and more intense wave of airstrikes.
President Trump, who spoke on his Truth Social platform on Wednesday, expressed that continued hostilities could be avoided if Tehran agrees to terms already under discussion.
“Assuming Iran agrees to give what has been agreed to, which is perhaps a big assumption, the already legendary Epic Fury will be at an end,” he said.
“If they don’t agree, the bombing starts, and it will be, sadly, at a much higher level and intensity than it was before,” he added.
Trump’s statement follows reports that Washington and Tehran are close to finalising a preliminary agreement.
According to U.S. media outlet Axios, both sides are working toward a one-page memorandum of understanding that would halt the conflict and pave the way for broader nuclear negotiations.

Earlier, Trump announced a temporary suspension of a U.S. military operation aimed at escorting commercial vessels through the strategic Strait of Hormuz. The operation, which had only just commenced, was paused amid optimism over ongoing diplomatic efforts.
Despite the pause, the United States has maintained its blockade of Iranian ports, even as Tehran continues restrictions affecting the key maritime route—developments that have unsettled global markets and pushed up fuel prices.
Trump said the decision to halt the operation—referred to as “Project Freedom”—followed appeals from international mediators, including Pakistan, and other stakeholders.
“We have mutually agreed that, while the Blockade will remain in full force and effect, Project Freedom… will be paused for a short period of time to see whether or not the Agreement can be finalised and signed,” he added.
The situation highlights rising geopolitical tensions, with global attention focused on whether diplomacy can prevent a further escalation of the conflict.
