Badagry Division Endorses Hamzat For Lagos Gov’ship

The political atmosphere in Badagry turned festive on Tuesday as thousands of supporters, party leaders and traditional rulers gathered to endorse the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, as the preferred candidate for the 2027 governorship election.

The endorsement rally, held on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), drew prominent party stakeholders from across Lagos State, including members of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC) and senior APC leaders.

The delegation was led by the Secretary of the GAC, Alhaji Muti Are, alongside notable party chieftains such as Musiliu Obanikoro, Fouad Oki, Alhaji Bode Oyedele and Dr AdDrnle Olayinka.

Speaking on behalf of Hamzat, who was absent from the event, Obanikoro expressed appreciation to the residents of Badagry for their continued support for the APC and the deputy governor.

He also commended fellow governorship aspirants, particularly Samuel Ajose from Badagry Division, for stepping down in support of Hamzat’s candidacy.

According to Obanikoro, Ajose’s decision reflected loyalty and respect for the leadership of the party and its national leader, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“By obeying the leadership of the party, Ajose has demonstrated the Omoluabi ethos through humility, loyalty and respect for our party and its leadership. We appreciate him for this gesture,” he said.

As part of the event, Obanikoro announced the donation of two boats and 100 life jackets to schools in Badagry on behalf of Hamzat.

He explained that the gesture was aimed at improving the safety of schoolchildren who rely on waterways for transportation to and from school.

Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman of Badagry Local Government, Hon. Babatunde Hunpe, praised party leaders and supporters for their commitment to the APC.

Hunpe assured party stakeholders that the support being provided for Hamza/would yield positive results for the division and the state at large.

“Our traditional rulers, youths and party faithful have demonstrated total commitment to this project, and I assure you that your support for the APC will not be in vain,” he said.
