Nigerian comedian and filmmaker Ayo Makun has said there is a need for accountability and a sense of responsibility among adults, saying both parties involved in marriages need to learn to accept responsibility instead of shifting blame.
Makun, who spoke on marital controversies and how society jumps to choose sides, said one wrong should not justify the other.

Taking to his verified X handle, the music executive said emotional neglect and betrayal were unpleasant experiences; one should not be used as an excuse for the other.
Makun wrote: “We have normalised choosing sides so much that we no longer ask what truly went wrong.
“Emotional neglect is painful. Betrayal is painful, too. One hurt should not automatically become justification for another.
“Maybe relationships would survive more if accountability were shared instead of outsourced”.
