A’Ibom Deputy Gov, Stakeholders Laud Peaceful Conduct Of APC Primaries

As Senator Ekong Sampson sweeps Oron Federal Constituency.

The Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senator Akon Eyakenyi, has expressed delight in the peaceful conduct of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Primaries for the Akwa Ibom South Senatorial District.

Speaking to newsmen before joining the party members to cast their votes at her Ward centre, Dr Eyakenyi explained that Governor Umo Eno’s pragmatic leadership has united Akwa Ibom into one formidable movement, making the primaries rancour-free without any reports of thuggery, voter harassment, violence, or acrimony.

The Deputy Governor further thanked Oron leaders and stakeholders for the massive love and support they have demonstrated for the current administration, adding that Senator Ekong Sampson, being the sole candidate for the primaries, has accordingly received the overwhelming affirmative vote from the massive crowd that turned out to vote.

While maintaining that Oron being one of the five Local Governments in the Federal Constituency is wholly APC, Dr Eyakenyi assured that come 2027, APC candidates will win every contest during the elections.

Also speaking in his ward, the Oron Council Boss, Hon. Chief Okon Enweme, described the APC Primaries as totally hitch-free as the people mobilised and came out in their numbers to demonstrate their support for the APC and Governor Umo Eno who, he stated, has executed mega projects in Oron, including the Oron beach maritime infrastructure, model schools, and hospitals as well as roads.

Hon. Enweme said that Senator Ekong Sampson has no rival, and as such, the Akwa Ibom United mantra of Governor Umo Eno has been fully embraced by the people.

His Urue Offong Oruko counterpart, Rt Hon. Uno Etim Uno, also speaking in the same vein, said the people of the Federal Constituency have decided to queue behind Senator Sampson and follow their leader, Governor Umo Eno, whose administration has brought profound peace, development, and unity to the entire State.

Others who spoke on the conduct of the APC Senatorial Primaries include Hon. Godwin Okponung, Chairman Udung Ukor Local Government Area, Hon. George Henshaw, Chairman Okobo Local Government Area, Hon. Engr Kpahabia Unoh Efretuei, former Chairman of Oron Local Government Area 1999-2022, Chief Esu Amba Stakeholder from Urue Offong Oruko, among others.

They commended Governor Umo Eno for his political brinkmanship in ensuring a peaceful conduct of the primaries across the State with zero reports of any awkward incidents of violence or open malpractice.

Senator Ekong Sampson, who was unopposed, won the affirmative votes in Oron Federal Constituency, including Mbo Local Government Area, where a massive turnout of party supporters was also recorded.
