Atiku Raises Concerns Over Election Manipulation


Ahead of the 2027 general elections, former Vice President and Chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar has expressed concerns over potential election manipulation, particularly at collation centres.

Atiku expressed his displeasure during a meeting with the Coalition for Democracy Movement on Tuesday.

He disclosed this following a strategic engagement with the group led by Jibril Shehu Mustapha, where discussions focused on strengthening electoral integrity ahead of future elections.

According to him, the coalition presented its nationwide structure and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting democratic processes, including safeguarding votes across the country.

The former presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) highlighted what he described as growing concerns about irregularities in the electoral process, stressing the need for effective countermeasures to ensure transparency and credibility.

He commended the coalition for its consistency and dedication to democratic ideals, noting that civic participation remains critical to protecting the sanctity of elections in Nigeria.

Atiku also assured members of the group that their contributions and sacrifices in defending democracy would not go unnoticed, adding that history would recognise their role in promoting credible elections.
