Asiwaju Lauds Adeleke Over Construction Of Otan Ile–Ijebu Ijesa Road

Engr. Oyedeji Olajubu, Asiwaju and Sukoti of Ilare Kingdom, has commended the Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on the ongoing reconstruction of the Otan Ile – Ijebu Ijesa road, saying the work is progressing at an unprecedented speed.

Asiwaju Olajubu gave the commendation while fielding questions from journalists shortly after the inspection of the ongoing project in the area.

Asiwaju Olajubu, a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers, expressed satisfaction at the quality and pace of work done so far.

He stated that Ilare Kingdom, which comprises Ilare, Egigun, Ipepeji, Ajeoku and other villages, has never felt government presence in the community like this before, noting that the Akande administration was the last government to make a meaningful impact in the community.

Asiwaju Olajubu, who was once President of the Ilare Development Association, said several letters were written to previous governments about the road without a response.

He recalled that during the last electioneering campaign, the community expressed their desire for the reconstruction and were promised it would be achieved. Now the “talk and do” performing Governor has fulfilled the promise, and the community is happy and proud of him. He assured the Governor of the continued support of the community, especially in his second term bid. To whom much is given, much will be delivered.

“Asiwaju Engr. Oyedeji Olajubu, on behalf of the community, assured the Accord Party and leaders in Ward 10, Ilare Ijesa, and Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke of prayers for success and goodwill for his re-election because of the ongoing reconstruction of the Otan Ile – Ijebu Ijesa road and other laudable projects in the state, he said.

He described the project as a timely intervention that will ease transportation, boost commerce, and restore dignity to the people.

Speaking on behalf of his community, Asiwaju Olajubu said the project has brought relief to farmers, traders, and students who, for years, endured hardship on the deplorable corridor linking agrarian communities in Obokun and Oriade Local Governments.

He noted that the new road will cut travel time, reduce vehicle maintenance costs, and open Ilare Ijesa, Ijebu Ijesa, and surrounding towns to fresh investment and development.

While emphasising that good governance transcends party lines, the community leader stated: “When government does well, we must say it.

This road is not PDP or Accord — it is for the people.” He thanked Governor Adeleke for listening to the cries of the people and urged contractors to deliver timely, quality work so the dividends of democracy can reach residents in full.

Asiwaju Olajubu further assured the Governor that the towns and communities along the Otan Ile – Ijebu Ijesa axis will reward the gesture with massive support for his second term bid.

“Infrastructure speaks louder than campaign promises. Our people can see and feel this road. On that basis, I can assure His Excellency that Ilare Ijesa, Otan-Ile, Esa-Odo, Ijebu Ijesa, and indeed Obokun as a whole will stand with Governor Ademola Adeleke come 2026,” he declared.

He appealed to the Governor to extend similar interventions to other inner roads within Ilare Ijesa, stressing that “you build a road, you build wealth.” He also called on youths, community leaders, and traditional rulers to protect the project and cooperate with contractors on site.

“Development has no party colour. Where we see it, we will acknowledge it and reciprocate it with our votes,” Asiwaju Olajubu concluded.
