Wumi Toriola Speaks Amid Age Debate After Row With Enioluwa

Nollywood actress and filmmaker Wumi Toriola has addressed the ongoing conversation about her age after a viral video involving Nigerian social media influencer Enioluwa Adeoluwa surfaced online.

New Telegraph reports that the discussion began after a video on Saturday, April 25, 2026, captured an interaction between Toriola and Enioluwa.

In the clip, the influencer addressed the actress by her first name, a move that appeared to irritate her and sparked mixed reactions from viewers, with some accusing him of being disrespectful.

At the time of the incident, Toriola was present at the event advocating support for the late Aunty Ajara. She was also seen greeting fellow actresses Ini Edo and Eniola Ajao before Enioluwa approached her.

As he greeted her using “Wumi,” the actress immediately expressed her displeasure. The situation briefly intensified, with Enioluwa attempting to appease her by holding onto her and apologising.

Responding in Yoruba, Toriola said, “You said Wumi, you call me by my name (opemi loruko), why would you call me Wunmi?”

Enioluwa quickly corrected himself, addressing her as “Aunty Wunmi” and praising her, which helped diffuse the tension and turned the moment into a lighter exchange.

Following the incident, online discussions shifted toward speculation about the actress’s age. Addressing the rumours via her Instagram story, Toriola clarified her stance and pushed back against the assumptions.

“I saw people debating my age. Nor be everybody ise dey gbo o, na all my family get baby face. I finished sec school in 2003 (I repeat o do the maths) 16 nor dey enter uni that time o,” she wrote.
