Asharami expands aviation fuel footprint across Africa

Asharami Synergy has said it is expanding its aviation fuel footprint across Africa through infrastructure modernisation, digital systems investment and global technology partnerships.

The company disclosed this recently during the International Air Transport Association Aviation Energy Forum held in Paris, where it showcased Africa’s evolving aviation fuelling leadership through strategic engagements and technology-driven operations.

According to a statement, the company said Africa’s aviation sector is scaling on the back of growing demand for efficiency, resilience and sustainability, with Asharami Synergy advancing aviation fuelling through infrastructure modernisation, digital visibility and precision systems.

The firm said the efforts align with Sahara Group’s vision to drive transformative growth, enable seamless energy solutions and build resilient industries across markets.

Speaking during the forum, the Chief Executive Officer of Asharami Synergy, Nomnso Dike, said the company was focused on shaping the next phase of aviation fuelling excellence across Africa.

“The future of aviation fuelling will be defined by technology, transparency, operational agility, and sustainability. We are building capabilities that not only meet today’s operational demands but also help define the next phase of aviation fuelling across Africa,” he said.

Asharami Synergy said it currently has the largest aviation fuel supply footprint in Nigeria and a growing African presence, adding that it continues to strengthen industry confidence through sustained infrastructure and systems investment.

The company stated that it operates over 20 aviation bowsers supported by globally aligned maintenance frameworks to enhance safety, efficiency and reliability, adding that recent investments include automated tank gauging systems for real-time inventory tracking and fuelling precision, alongside digital fuelling technologies aimed at improving transparency, accountability and invoicing efficiency.

Asharami also said it had advanced engagements with global aviation technology and infrastructure partners, including i6 Group, to deepen capabilities in fuelling automation, operational visibility and evolving global standards.

The Chief Operating Officer, Adekanmi Adesola, said reliability remained central to aviation operations, saying, “Reliability is central to aviation operations. Through disciplined planning, strong partnerships, and sustained investment, we continue to deliver a seamless, safe, and innovative aviation fuel supply across our markets, with the utmost regard for environmental sustainability,” he said.

The company added that its engagements at the IATA forum reinforced its role in strengthening Africa’s aviation growth story and delivering safer, smarter and more efficient fuelling operations across the continent.
