All Citizens Should Hold Government Responsible- Do2dtun

Nigerian media personality, Oladotun Kayode Do2dtun, has said that Nigerians should not wait for celebrities to speak out against insecurity.

He said this in a post on his X page that Nigerians both call out and criticize public figures who remain quiet.

According to Do2dtun, holding the government responsible is a shared duty that shouldn’t be delegated to a small group of people.

He continued by saying that some public personalities remain mute to prevent retaliation, while others are frequently targeted until they retract their statements.

He asked Nigerians to quit treating celebrities differently and use their own platforms as well.

Instead of condemning public personalities, he argued, citizens should concentrate on those who have failed them.

“The ones that speak up, you bash them into depression. Now it has now become a bandwagon of set of people who just do it to be able to move in their lives in peace or don’t at all to have peace. You have insulted them into oblivion. Let everyone use their platform. Nigeria do not treat them differently. It is not JUST their duty to hold the government accountable. It is our DUTY. Face the ones that sold you out,” he stated.

Do2dtun also said most Nigerians are controlled by fear and trauma, which makes them shift blame for issues requiring collective action.

He said Nigerians look for solutions in the wrong places and attack the wrong people, describing it as hypocrisy when people who do nothing with their platforms criticise those who do.
