All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Chief Sola Ajimati, has obtained the party’s Senatorial Expression of Interest and Nomination Form to contest the Kwara South seat in the 2027 elections.

Ajimati picked up the form at the Ladi Kwali Hall of the Sheraton Hotel in Abuja. He said his decision follows calls for a new generation of leadership in the district.

He said his campaign will focus on community security, youth employment, women’s empowerment, agricultural support, and rural infrastructure.

Speaking after obtaining the form, Ajimati called for “bold, inclusive, and action-driven leadership.”

“Our people deserve safety, opportunity, and prosperity. This is our moment,” he said.

Ajimati cited his background in engineering and enterprise, along with his work in youth mobilisation and development, as relevant to representing the district in the National Assembly.

He also referenced his role as an African Union Youth Ambassador and Pan-Continental Diplomat, saying he plans to use international networks to attract investment and support development in Kwara South.

His declaration is drawing attention across the district’s seven local government areas, especially among young people seeking more political inclusion.

Ajimati said his “Ajimati4Senate 2027” campaign will focus on delivery rather than rhetoric.

“Our goal is to build a future where communities are secure, young people have opportunities, women are empowered, and farmers are supported,” he said.

The APC is expected to begin internal processes ahead of the 2027 elections, with more aspirants likely to join the race.

Ajimati’s entry reflects a growing trend of youth participation in Nigerian politics.
