The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Vanguard Support Group has endorsed the candidacy of Mohammed Hayatu-Deen for the party’s presidential ticket in the 2027 general elections.
With the exit of former Anambra State Governor, Mr Peter Obi, from the party, the ADC ticket is now between Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Chibuike Amaechi and Hayatu-Deen.
Announcing the endorsement in Abuja on Tuesday, the ADC VSG said Mohammed Hayatu-Deen is the candidate the party needs, and the leader Nigeria deserves.
“He has no baggage, no failed attempts, and no factional debts,” said convener, Comrade A.A. Abdulkadir
Abdulkadir added that Nigeria does not need another politician but a builder, noting that Hayatu-Deen has spent 40 years “creating jobs, turning around failing institutions, and delivering results that ordinary Nigerians could see and feel.”
He told ADC delegates that Nigeria is at a crossroads, noting that the ADC was built to offer something genuinely different.
“We are calling on every ADC delegate, every party member, and every Nigerian who wants real change to get behind this campaign. The new direction Nigeria needs starts here,” he said.
Hayatu-Deen, who inaugurated his presidential campaign office in Abuja on Monday, expressed gratitude to the support group for the endorsement.
He stated that the ADC is not just another political party but a vehicle through which “Nigeria can break from the cycle of recycled faces and broken promises that have held this country back for too long.
“I am committed to this party, to its mission, and to the Nigerians who are depending on us to get this right. Together, we will give Nigeria the new direction it deserves.”
