Muhammad Sani Abacha the eldest Son of the late Head of State, Sani Abacha, has been defeated by Muhammad Bello Dalhatu in the Gubernatorial Primary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for Kano State.
Announcing the results of the Primary Elections, Umar Danjani Hadejia, Chairman PDP Kano State Governorship Primary Election Committee, said the party’s gubernatorial primary election conducted to elect the party’s candidate for the forthcoming governorship election in Kano State, was done peacefully and without hitches.
He stated that the election was conducted peacefully, transparently, and in accordance with the party’s constitution and electoral guidelines.
Danjani hints that, Alh. Muhammad Sani Abacha, scored 749 votes, while Alh. Muhammad Bello Dalhatu, scored 2,233 votes, returning him as the winner of the conduct.
“Having scored the highest number of valid votes cast, Alh. Muhammad Bello Dalhat was duly declared the winner of the PDP gubernatorial primary election and consequently returned as the party’s gubernatorial candidate for Kano State.
The Committee commended all aspirants, delegates, party officials, security agencies, and stakeholders for their maturity, cooperation, and commitment throughout the exercise, while calling on all party members to unite and work collectively towards the success of the party in the forthcoming elections.
