Emir Of Kano, Bayero To Carry Out Traditional Durbar Horse Riding

The 15th Fulani Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, is scheduled to undertake the Sallah traditional Hawan Daushe and Hawan Nassarawa on Thursday, May 28, and Friday, May 29.

This was disclosed by the Sarkin Dawaki Babba, a senior councillor at the palace of Bayero, Alhaji Aminu Babba Dan’agundi, who explained that they were permitted by security agencies to carry out the traditional Sallah procession.

He said on Wednesday that the schedule of the traditional horse riding would commence with the Hawan Daushe, which will see Emir Aminu Ado Bayero going through the city centre, excluding the main Kano Emir’s Palace currently occupied by the 16th Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II.

“We have written to the police and they have not said we shouldn’t carry out the exercise, so we are going to do it accordingly in a peaceful manner, starting from the Nassarawa Emir Palace to Kofar Nassarawa and back to his home,” Dan’agundi said.

He added that on Friday, the procession would move through state roads to Fagge and then to Mandawari, where the Emir would rest to avoid crowd-related problems due to the millions of people expected to accompany him.

He assured that the activities would be peaceful and orderly, without any breach of peace, adding that supporters had already been warned to shun anything capable of causing unrest.
