Inuwa Yahaya Calls For Unity, Patience Among Nigerians

Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has urged Nigerians to remain united and patient despite the security and economic challenges confronting the country.

The governor spoke after joining the Emir of Gombe, Abubakar Shehu Abubakar III, and thousands of Muslim faithful for the Eid-el-Kabir prayers at the Central Eid Prayer Ground in Gombe.

The prayer session was conducted by the Deputy Chief Imam of Bubayero Central Mosque, Gombe, Ustaz Aliyu Hammari.

Addressing guests during a post-prayer reception at the Government House, Inuwa Yahaya expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for granting Muslims the opportunity to witness another Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

He called on Muslims to reflect on the lessons of sacrifice, obedience, compassion, and selflessness exemplified by the festival.

The governor further appealed to Nigerians to continue supporting constituted authorities and cooperate with government efforts aimed at addressing the nation’s socio-economic and security challenges.

According to him, collective responsibility and cooperation remain critical to overcoming the country’s present difficulties.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya also used the occasion to caution politicians against actions capable of threatening peace and stability ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He maintained that democracy thrives best in an environment of tolerance, mutual respect, and strict adherence to the rule of law.

The Eid celebration attracted top government officials, traditional rulers, religious leaders, and political stakeholders, including Speaker of the Gombe State House of Assembly, Mohammed Luggerowo, and APC governorship candidate, Dr Jamilu Isiyaku Gwamna.

Special prayers were offered for sustained peace, economic prosperity, and good leadership in Nigeria.
