I Became A Woeful Husband After Losing My Spark- Jim Iyke

Renowned nollywood actor, Jim Iyke has disclosed that his marriage ended as a result of a protracted emotional low that altered his personality and had an impact on his domestic relationships.

Speaking in an interview with Chude Jideonwo, Iyke claimed that at a trying time in his life, he lost his motivation and self-assurance.

He claimed that the shift made him focus more on becoming a father and less on his position as a husband.

He also clarified that he became a stay-at-home father who focused all of his efforts on his son acknowledging his inability to provide for his wife’s emotional needs.

According to him, this made the wife inform him she no longer recognise the guy she had married.

Iyke claimed that he was open with her about his difficulties and that he was unable to estimate the duration of his recuperation.

He said: “I lost my spark I lost the lion and leader in me, and my wife suffered for it. And then I became an obsessive dad. I gave everything in me to my son. I was a proper stay-at-home dad.

“I became an excellent father but a woeful husband. After a while, she said, “I can’t find the man I married anymore.” I told her, “I don’t know what it’d take for me to heal and bring myself back.

“If you want to wait for me, I’d appreciate it. And if you can’t, I would understand. She said she couldn’t, so we shook hands and parted as friends.”
