The Imole Campaign Council has alleged the existence of a secret operation involving nonstate actors posing as Department of State Services (DSS) officials during the August 15 Osun State governorship election.
In a statement by spokesman Pelumi Olajengbesi, the group backing Governor Ademola Adeleke’s re-election bid claimed that intelligence reports linked some opposition figures to an alleged plot to deploy hooded men across major towns in the state.
According to the organisation, the fake DSS officials will be allegedly stationed in Osogbo, Ilesa, Iwo, Ikirun, Ede and Ile Ife to target some government officials and members of the Accord Party.
The statement said: “Prominent officials of the administration numbering about 25 have been listed as targets with their movements being tracked and their communications bugged.”
