APC Governors Deliver Orderly Primaries, Tinubu Says After Voting In Lagos

President Bola Tinubu has commended governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the peaceful, transparent, and well-organised conduct of the party’s general primary elections across the country.

He expressed satisfaction with the overall conduct of the primaries nationwide, noting that APC governors had performed effectively in coordinating party activities across their respective states.

According to him, the process reflected proper grassroots participation, from ward congresses to local government congresses, including delegates’ accreditation, validation, membership register updates, and certification of electoral procedures.

“Today I am very satisfied. The governors have done well in their states. From the ward congresses to the local government congresses, delegates’ accreditation, validation, membership register, and certification of the electoral process, they have done well,” he said.

The President explained that the APC’s internal democracy allows broad participation of party members at all levels, stressing that the primaries were peaceful and well-coordinated nationwide.

“This is grassroots politics where every member of the party has the right to participate and be involved. It is to ensure internal democracy, and it has been peaceful and well organised,” he added.

He further expressed delight at the level of mobilisation and support from party members across the country.

“I’m excited with the massive support today; they’ve challenged me to do more,” he said.

President Tinubu was accompanied by his wife, Oluremi Tinubu, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu amongst others during the exercise in Lagos, where he was warmly received by party supporters.
