Champion Breweries Plc is strengthening its expansion strategy through the integration of a new subsidiary, as the company continues to scale its operations and diversify its portfolio following recent acquisitions and capital market activities.
The company, in a statement on Tuesday, also announced that its 50th Annual General Meeting will be held on May 21, 2026, in Lagos, adding that the AGM comes at a significant point in the company’s corporate development, following a year marked by expansion initiatives, including the acquisition of Bullet Energy Drink and a successful capital market exercise to raise growth funding.
The company said these steps are aimed at strengthening its competitive position, expanding its product portfolio, and improving long-term shareholder returns.
The firm said it has also advanced its transition into a group structure following the acquisition of an 80 per cent stake in enJOYbev B.V. The company said the move supports its international expansion strategy and has begun contributing to earnings within the reporting period. It added that the subsidiary’s results are now being consolidated into the group accounts for the first time.
“In line with its commitment to transparency, accountability, and shareholder engagement, the AGM will be held physically while also being accessible to stakeholders via the company’s official website.
“At the meeting, shareholders will consider statutory and governance matters, including the audited financial statements for the year ended December 31, 2025, alongside the reports of the directors, auditors, and the audit committee.
“Other agenda items include the declaration of dividends, election and re-election of directors, authorisation for directors to determine auditors’ remuneration, and the election or re-election of shareholders’ representatives to the audit committee,” the firm stated in the statement.
Speaking ahead of the AGM, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Imo Abasi Jacob, described the year under review as a pivotal phase in the company’s evolution.
“This AGM reflects a defining chapter in our journey as a Company. The acquisition of Bullet, our successful capital market engagement, and the integration of enJOYbev B.V. into our Group structure all signal a deliberate strategy for sustainable growth and diversification.
“These milestones position Champion Breweries Plc for stronger performance, broader market reach, and enhanced shareholder value. We remain committed to disciplined execution, operational excellence, and the highest standards of corporate governance,” he said.
The Board of Directors reaffirmed Champion Breweries Plc’s commitment to strong governance, operational efficiency, and sustainable value creation as it continues to expand its presence within and beyond Nigeria.
