Two senatorial aspirants of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have withdrawn from the party’s primaries in Kebbi State ahead of the scheduled election on Monday, May 18, 2026.
Former Deputy Senate Leader, Bala Ibn Na’Allah, who was contesting for the Kebbi South Senatorial ticket, announced his withdrawal in a letter addressed to the APC State Chairman in Birnin Kebbi.
Na’Allah said his decision followed what he described as credible information suggesting that directives had been issued regarding the conduct and outcome of the primary election.

He noted that he had spent the past 14 years building the party at both state and national levels as a founding member, adding that his decision to enter the race was influenced by appeals from supporters and constituents who also funded his nomination form.
He urged his supporters to remain calm and law-abiding while expressing appreciation to the party for the opportunity to serve, particularly in the 8th Senate.
Similarly, another aspirant, Kabiru Muhammad Sani, who was contesting the Kebbi Central Senatorial District seat, also withdrew from the race.
In his letter to the APC Chairman in Kebbi State, Sani cited personal, political, and strategic reasons for stepping down.
He thanked party leaders, supporters, and his campaign team for their backing and reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC, pledging continued commitment to the unity and progress of the party.
The withdrawals come just hours before the party’s scheduled senatorial primaries in the state.
