APC Aspirant, Amure, Seeks Nullification Of Primary Results In Epe

An All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirant in the House of Representatives primary election for the Epe Federal Constituency, Ademola Amure, has raised strong objections to the process, calling for the cancellation of the exercise.

Amure, who faulted the process and described it as lacking transparency, urged the party’s leadership to deploy all internal mechanisms to address the alleged anomaly.

The aspirant, who contested for the party’s ticket, alleged that the exercise was marred by irregularities, including concerns over delegate selection and what he termed undue influence on the outcome of the poll.

In a statement by his media team, the exercise was alleged to have been marred by flaws in Wards F1, E1, E2, and R1.

The statement argued that the process did not reflect the genuine choice of party members in the constituency.

According to him, the credibility of the primary has been undermined by procedural flaws that require urgent attention from the party leadership to prevent internal discontent from escalating.

“It is in furtherance of this that we are appealing to the party’s national leadership to deploy all the mandatory internal dispute resolution mechanisms to address the anomaly and the brazen affront on our collective democratic values.

“We call on the general public to disregard the sponsored reports by some individuals claiming victory at the disputed exercise. It is a product of political desperation, hallucination, and a lack of decency and good values.”

The APC primary in Epe, like several constituency-level contests across Lagos State, has continued to generate debate among stakeholders, with some aspirants expressing dissatisfaction over outcomes they believe do not represent the will of delegates.

Party officials are yet to issue a detailed public response to Amure’s latest allegations, but sources within the party insist that the exercise followed established guidelines and would be reviewed through internal mechanisms if formal complaints are submitted.

Political observers say the development reflects the recurring tensions within party primaries, particularly in competitive constituencies where multiple interests often clash during delegate-based selections.

The situation is expected to test the APC’s internal dispute resolution structures in the coming days as stakeholders await further clarification from the party hierarchy.
