A member representing Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Gagdi, has urged members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau State to set aside their differences and unite ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Gagdi, who is the Chairman of the House Committee on Navy, stated this during a summit organised by APC youths in Plateau State.
He insisted that unity would enable the party to record a landslide victory in the forthcoming general elections in the state.
The lawmaker, who described the APC as the largest political party in Africa, maintained that a united front would position the party better ahead of the polls.
“We are one people. We believe in the progress of Plateau and Nigeria, and that is why we must unite ahead of the forthcoming elections.
“While we are not scared of the opposition, we believe that with a united front, we will record a landslide victory,” he said.
The lawmaker, who acknowledged the developmental strides of Governor Caleb Mutfwang, called on residents of the state to vote for him again in 2027.
Gagdi promised not only to support the governor’s re-election bid but also to campaign for him in all the nooks and crannies of the state.
He insisted that the governor deserves a second term to consolidate on delivering the dividends of democracy to the people.
Also speaking was former House of Representatives member, Hon. Dachung Musa Bagos, who represented Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency, commended the APC youths for organising the summit.
Bagos described the summit as timely, adding that it had provided an opportunity for youths to come together under one umbrella and forge a common cause.
He noted that the summit also provided party leaders and policymakers the opportunity to present the scorecards of the governor and explain why Plateau residents should vote for him again.
Bagos, a strong contender for the Jos South/Jos East constituency seat, also called on Plateau residents to re-elect the governor in 2027.
Earlier, the chairman and organiser of the summit, James Victor Chollom, charged Nigerian youths to move beyond political spectatorship and become active drivers of national development.
Chollom declared that youths are no longer merely leaders of tomorrow but active stakeholders shaping the destiny of the nation today.
He emphasised that young Nigerians have continued to drive innovation, entrepreneurship, technology, civic participation, and economic growth across various sectors.
The APC youth leader also urged youths to embrace patriotism, discipline, accountability, and responsible political participation while rejecting division, violence, and political apathy.
According to him, meaningful change can only emerge through preparation, service, constructive engagement, and commitment to national unity.
